Becoming Mrs G….. The Lead Up Part 2

See Part 1 Here

Saturday 9th September. 7 sleeps to go.

THIS TIME NEXT WEEK!! Oh it makes my belly do a flop, but in a good excited way. This time next week I will be married (it is now 14.58) MAD. So mad. I keep saying it but I cannot believe how quickly it has all come around. It rained all day yesterday, so I hope that it doesn’t next weekend. Currently the weather report is not for rain, but have looked into umbrellas. Will keep an eye on the forecast. I don’t mind if its grey, just really don’t want it to be wet because we have the lawn games and the photos will be so much nicer outside! I don’t suppose anyone really wants rain on their wedding day though do they? Maybe if you are a duck.

Jezz and I finalised the quiz this morning, so I just need to go and get those printed in the week. The ribbons all arrived this morning so I have sat and cut the extra pieces that we will need for the favours. He has gone for a hair cut, and we have sorted out for my Dad to pick up the suits on Thursday next week.

Organise organise organise. I am in my element hahaha!

This time next week.  YAY!

Sunday 10th September. 6 sleeps to go.

I have had the laziest day ever I cannot lie. Jezz has been working hard on his speech all day. I had a bath. Glorious.

Monday 11th September. 5 sleeps to go.

I was planning on waking up early today to get cracking with numerous jobs I had planned. I had forgotten that I had turned my alarm off for Mondays the previous week due to the bank holiday. I woke up at 9.30am. Oops.

I got up and headed to the Brow Bar in Brighton (I think that is what it is called, near the clock tower on Dyke Road) and had my eyebrows tidied ready for the weekend. I do not get them done very often, but thought it worth it! Special occasion and that haha. I then went to the jewellers where we bought our wedding rings and I took my engagement ring there to be polished. As we bought our wedding rings with them it was free. Fantastic! (Ring Jewellers in the Lanes if anyone is interested, they were great).

I had a shopping list of things to get in Waitrose. Came out of Waitrose without any of them. Forgot to pick my watch that was being repaired up from the jewellers in the mall. Fail. I went home for lunch and thought I had best start again afterwards. I had to go back to the jewellers for 1pm anyway to collect my engagement ring. So at 12.30 off I attempted my various errands again. I went to Superdrug for paracetamol, ibuprofen, glasses wipes and mouthwash. Then via the mall to pick up my watch, then down to the jewellers in The Lanes to collect my engagement ring. Then back to the flat, again without the items on the Waitrose shopping list, will do that another day its not urgent.

Emailed Jezz to print a few bits for the weekend. Think I have had a pretty productive day all in all! I must discuss with the girls about walking down the aisle, wonder how the little ones will deal with it all.

I rang John Lewis to arrange the delivery of the wedding gift list, that’s exciting! So Monday 9th October something to look forward too. They text me to confirm the details and addressed me as “Mrs Goodwin”. Haha. Weird.

Tuesday 12th September. 4 sleeps to go.

I woke up nice and early because my alarm worked! HURRAH! Not that the alarm would have made a difference because they are doing some work in the flat upstairs and the banging was SO LOUD it would have woken the dead. Thanks, nice and relaxing. Haha.

Today’s big wedding task is to do all the favours. It is currently 11.36am and I am half way through. Taking all of my will power not to eat all of the chocolate. MUST RESIST URGE TO EAT CHOCOLATE. I also will mount all of the timetables Jezz printed yesterday onto some card. I also need to send some money to our videographer, who is a friend of my brothers for his transport.

Amynoos Becoming Mrs G Timetables Wedding Preperation

Going to text the mums of our mini bridesmaids right this second about walking down the aisle to see what they think! Before I forget, stupid thing that kept me up last night haha. I wasn’t worried, just thinking about it. I mean they are little girls, it is probably going to be down to them at the end of the day but I really don’t mind. If they decide they don’t want to walk they don’t have too. I just want them to feel like beautiful special princesses for the day! THEY ARE GOING TO LOOK SO CUTE.

Random thing I loved in… October

Bit late to the party not only this month BUT SO MANY MONTHS HAVE PASSED. I will stop making excuses. Let’s just get to the good stuff, and boy is this some good stuff….

October is always a favourite month of mine, not only because it is my birthday but mostly because I love autumn. I love the change in season, the colours, the blankets, the scarves, the hot chocolates, the candles. I love any chance to get super cosy and October for me screams cosy times.

Amynoos Mocha Chai Bluebird Tea

The latest edition to the cosy times is this incredible Mocha Chai from Bluebird Tea Co.. I was introduced to Bluebird teas by my mother-in-law who served me the most incredible Earl Grey (this one here it’s amazing), since then I have stalked their website and finally took the plunge and ordered a few small packs to try the different teas. This is where I found Mocha Chai.

Amynoos Mocha Chai Bluebird Tea

It is described as “a decadent spiced trio of coffee, chocolate and chai”. It is dreamy. I have been brewing a fairly strong amount in about half a cup of water and then mixing it with frothed milk and a tea spoon of honey to sweeten. Topped off with a sprinkle of cinnamon (or chocolate). Just delicious.

Amynoos Mocha Chai Bluebird Tea

I very quickly went through my small pouch and so recently purchased the large tin. These are great! The tins are really nice quality, long and tall so they do not take up too much space and it looks great in my kitchen.

Now it’s time to cosy up with this delicious brew. Bliss.

Becoming Mrs G….. The Lead Up Part 1

Monday 4th September. 12 sleeps to go.

I have just had a bath and am sat watching Say Yes to the Dress. I am not sure I will ever stop enjoying this programme. Currently every time they do a scene where a couple are actually getting married I get all the stomach butterflies and that internal scream of excitement. I am so incredibly excited. I am also shitting my pants, for silly reasons like, what if I fall over, or say something wrong or stupid, or feel so awkward that I just constantly pull my stupid face, which happens when I am nervous and uncomfortable!! Haha. I MUST NOT PULL STUPID FACES. Bad face. Just nice face. What is my nice face? Not sure I have one….

It’s still over a week so I am at the point where I do actually think most of the things are done. I still need to print some of the things for the quiz we have planned for during the meal, and reserved signs for the seating at the ceremony. The day timings and list of jobs for people also to be printed. My brain has been running wild with wedding thoughts for the past 3 weeks. I need to CHILL OUT. Haha.

Did I mention I am excited?

Shit me I am excited.

I hope my dress still fits.

I am going to be Mrs. That is like some proper grown-upping. 10 grown up points? Probably at least 100.

Tuesday 5th September. 11 sleeps to go.

Today Jezz worked from home. I went off to Lewes to drop off the pyjamas I have got for my mum, and the bridesmaids so that they are in their rooms when they arrive on the Friday night. I hope that they like them. I had a little wonder around Lewes to refresh myself with the area, made a note of the nearest cash points and kebab shop.

Came home and had sushi lunch from Itsu.  Yummy.

I spent the afternoon cracking on with wedding bits. Oh so many bits. I spent a good hour making paper hats, and cutting out celebrity masks. We have loads of silly comedy stuff for the reception for a bit of fun! We also got a whole bunch of leis which when I opened STANK. So they are currently sat in the kitchen airing out (or at least smelling of other food smells/febreeze than rotting grot). Feeling in control. Feeling good. Feeling less panicky.

Wednesday 6th September. 10 sleeps to go.

I went over to Hove to collect Jezz’s gift for the big day from the framers. I got it home and immediately wrapped it and hid it with all the other wedding shinanigans so he wont spot it. I still need to write the card. Bought to much shopping in Tescos and had to carry tremendously heavy bags back quite a way, rookie move. I got the chocolates and sweets for the favours and I will make those up next week. I must resist the urge to eat them. They are calling me from the other room… must ignore their cries to be eaten.

I have the world’s biggest spot coming on the end of my nose. Great. Attacking it with all the products. MUST. RESIST. TRYING. TO. POP.

I bought a T-Shirt with “Mrs” on because I am a massive dork and also I think that will be quite funny to come for breakfast in on the Sunday morning. Getting sooooooo excited! The parentals are coming over tomorrow for a final meeting to get everything together. I need to print a bunch of stuff but I am sure it’s not ready yet, so might have to find an internet café to do that… if such a thing even exists anymore!

Thursday 7th September. 9 sleeps to go.

Single digits

Mum and Dad came over to discuss last things and I feel very much in control of the situation. Which is exactly where I wanted to be at this point! Just need to assign jobs, prints things, put favours in the boxes. Pack the bags.

That’s it.

Hope that this nose spot buggers off.

Did I mention I am excited?? Eeeeeeeeeeaaaaakkkkkkk.

Mrs Goodwin.

Mrs Amy Goodwin.

I should do some relaxing stuff next week, take my mind of the big day. Not that I want to stop thinking about it but want to be relaxed. It’s very hard to be relaxed when you are so tremendously excited! SQUEEAK.

Hoping the spare ribbon I bought turns up tomorrow. And the yellow hoodie I ordered over a week ago. WHERE IS MY YELLOW HOODIE? (unrelated to wedding).

Friday 8th September. 8 sleeps to go.

This time next week it will be all systems go! My silly t-shirt has arrived, it’s great! Haha! I am sure it will draw a few chuckles. I keep playing the day over in my head, and imagining it. Must remember to savour each moment. It will all be over so quickly I am sure, I am so excited. I think I have said that quite a lot!

I have zero ability to not pick at spots and have made the one on my nose worse. Dammit. Still a week to go, must not pick at it any more and hopefully it will heal in time! Fingers crossed.

I have put the menus in the crates. I am hoping that the extra ribbon I ordered will arrive tomorrow as it hasn’t arrive today. Then I can do the favours. Oooooh it’s so close now. Need to have a relaxing weekend. Next weekend is going to be nuts.

Writers Block – A Poem

Writers Block

She sat down and she tried to write,

She tried to be creative with all of her mite.

She wrote lines after lines of delicious descriptions,

But nothing would ever come, even close, to fruition.

It has been so long since she had activated her brain,

And it was only herself that she had to blame.

It was at the darkest of night that the words came alive,

And so it was then that the stories began to thrive.

As soon as the sun rose over her head,

The weary creator got out of her bed.

All the takes of drama, excitement and woe,

Were nowhere to be seen, she had nowhere to go.

And so she sat down and she tried to write.

She tried to remember with all of her mite.

She wrote lines after lines, not knowing where she was going,

And all she ended up with, was this terrible poem.

Becoming Mrs G…. The Beginning

#AJWedding Marriage Ring Exchange Amynoos

Today is Thursday 28th September 2017, a mere twelve days since our wedding day and it already feels like forever. It was an incredible day and I wish we could do it all over again. Instead, I am tucking away bits and pieces, pressing flowers, trying to encapsulate and physically contain parts of the beautiful day that marked the beginning of our future. OUR future. No longer am I a singular but rather part of a (now official) team. Not that we have really been singular for a long time now. The OH and I have been together five and a half years, and living together for two. It’s legal and everything, we have a bit of paper.

Personally, for me I feel like this marks a step into proper adulthood. (Although according to officials I am WAY PAST going into adulthood). It’s a bit terrifying, but really exciting. I am so excited for the future, and to be spending it with my favourite.

So we find ourselves here, looking forward onto my journey as Mrs G.

Mrs.

That’s bloody grown up.

Random thing I have loved in… March

Wibble wobble wibble wobble jelly on a plate.

Mandarin Jelly. Om nom nom nom nom 😍

A post shared by Amy Teresa Elliott (@amynoos) on

I seem to have rediscovered my love for jelly in March! In particular orange jelly with mandarins. It is just so good! I blame Sainsburys for this months not just thing I have been loving, but obsession! Their mandarin jellies are divine. (You can find them in the section with the sandwiches).

The number of these I was consuming had started to make quite a large dent in my money so I had a go at making my own.

I added peaches and mandarins to these.

I added peaches and mandarins to these.

I forgot how good jelly was! Now I cannot get enough. I may have gone a little wild on my last food shop and bought lots of different flavours. I am now very much looking forward to making my way through all of them. The best part is that these ones are sugar free, so not that bad for you! I can eat as much jelly as I wish and not feel bad about it.

WOOHOO! Jelly is the best! Om nom!

Do you have any jelly suggestions? What is your favourite flavour?

Random thing I have loved in… February

I have always been obsessed with anything lavender scented. There was a plant outside a house on the way to my Nan’s that had this HUGE lavender bush and I always used to squish the little purple flowers between my fingers so I could smell like them. My bedside table is littered with lavender lotions, potions, sprays and my latest obsession, this essential oil roll on from Tisserand.

Tisserand Lavender Sweet Dreams

Tisserand are a well known brand of essential oils. Last summer I bought a three pack which included “De-Stress”, “Energy”, and this one “Sweet Dreams”. It has lavender, sandalwood and jasmine oils, and it smells divine. Just the perfect delicious, relaxing scent for bed time.

Tisserand Sweet Dreams Box

The roller ball design is so handy for quick and easy application to your pulse points.

Tisserand Roll On Sweet Dreams Lavender

I have been using it every night, and cannot get enough of it. Finally it is running out so I bought a new one from Amazon for £5.95. Considering this one lasted me from August last year up until now I think that is a pretty good price.

Only draw back of searching “Tisserand Sweet Dreams” on Amazon was the realisation that they do a pillow spray, and a large oil, and a bath oil and…. goodbye money.

Lush Haul – Valentines 2017

It’s that time of year again when I have to rush to Lush to get my grubby paws on their limited edition Valentines themed things.

Lush Amynoos

I popped down to my local branch in Brighton recently and yet again was overwhelmed by all of the beautiful lovely things, superb friendly and approachable staff. Spot on, well done again Lush.

Ladybird Bubble Bar Lush Amynoos

This is the tremendously cute Ladybird Bubble Bar and at £3.95 is one of the more affordable items. I adore the bubble bars as you can get so many uses out of them. The assistant in the store said you could get two uses but I bet you can get more. I guess it is how many bubbles you want! The Ladybird has sweet geranium and peppermint oils. Everyone in the store swooned over my choice in this little fella so I can’t wait to give it a go.

Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar Lush Amynoos

These are the main reason that I had to get down to Lush for their Valentines day items. These beautiful Unicorn Horns have a cult following and are one of the best selling items. These are my absolute favourite bubble bars of all time (hence I got two!) They use two of my absolute favourite fragrances lavender and neroli to make this blissful pretty bubble bar. I adore it! You can also get a lot of uses from each bar which I love. These are £4.25 a piece.

Lover Lamp Bath Bomb Lush Amynoos

Over to bath bombs. I had one of these Lover Lamp bath bombs last year and it was so lovely I had to get another one this year. Cocoa butter, vanilla absolute, Brazilian orange fizz away releasing the cute little red hearts into your bath water. It is just so pretty. This is £4.25.

Rose Bombshell Bath Bomb Lush Amynoos

This is not one of the Valentines day ones but I caught a wiff and I couldn’t say no. This is the Rose Bombshell. I have had one of these before and it was delightful. It is rose scented and as it dissolves in your bath water it releases petals. My only gripe is that I hate getting the petals out the bath after, but this one smells so good I am willing to over look that. This is £4.25.

Cupid Bath Bomb Lush Amynoos

Last but not least is the Cupid Bath Bomb. This one is only £2.95. This has rose and bergamot is in the shape of a heart with an arrow. I think this one would make a very cute gift for someone.

What has been your favourite Lush Valentines product this year? Any I have missed? :)

Random thing I have loved in… January

Each month I am going to pick one, just one thing that I have been loving in that month. It can be anything, food, make up, entertainment or like in the case of this month, this random doohicky.

Phone Ring Amynoos

I got this phone ring for Christmas. I have a “phablet” …or in plain ol’ English, a blooming big phone. I had got really good with my previous “regular” sized phone at using it with one hand but have struggled with my current phone. This simple little gadget certainly solves that issue.

I stuck it onto my gold glitter cover, and as it is slightly gold toned and I think they look really good together.

Phone Ring Amynoos

You can also use the ring as a stand, which is brilliant for when you are watching Youtube videos!

I really have loved it because my phone now feels secure again. I was always terrified of dropping it when using it one handed, but with the ring I know I have a good grip. It also comes with a hook that you can loop the ring over. I have not used this yet because I am not sure where to stick it. I imagine it would be quite good to use in your car, or if you regularly use your phone as a music or video player somewhere to stick it there. I just haven’t found the correct spot yet.

Phone Ring Amynoos Phone Ring Amynoos

I would definitely recommend getting one if you have a larger phone and struggle with holding it.

Phone Ring Amynoos

It is currently only £4.99 on Amazon.

5 Things I lied about in 2016

It occurred to me the other day whilst I gave a little white lie to someone about how I was, that the human race, even though we will deny it, lies a whooooole bunch. Maybe not big lies. Y’no the “I once went on a date with Tom Hardy” kinda lies, but the little ones that we don’t even really consciously think of as lies. This got me thinking, and I thought it would be funny to admit 5 “little white lies” that I told last year. Here goes

1. “I am so sorry, I already have plans with my other half”

Birthday Cake Amynoos

To someone I do not know very well upon being invited to her birthday drinks

2. “Oh thank you so much, it looks wonderful, how lovely, how kind, thank you”.

To a student offering me a “treat” they had bought from their native land. It did not look wonderful. It went in the bin when they left the room.

3. “Oh this t-shirt, yes I have had it a while.”

If by a while you mean since yesterday? Yes.

4. “I was really good, I just had soup for my lunch.”

Soup Amynoos

And a bread roll the size of my head. And a bag of crisps.

5. “Oh only about £20”

When asked about how much I had just spent in Lush.

£45. I had spent £45. On bath products.

Have you told any good little white lies? Please share them below in the comments!
