May has seen some sunshine, some rain, some sunshine, some rain, bit of wind, sun and rain at the same time, but at least no snow this month. Hurrah. As one of the students keeps telling me at school “You cannot trust the weather in England”, he is 100% right.
May has been a quieter month, not quite as many exciting adventures but some fun stuff has been happening.
This month saw the return of Brighton Festival, which for me and my chum Jo means one thing, time for red wine and The Ladyboys of Bangkok! After years and years of dithering about going, we finally did last year and had the absolute time of our lives. So when this year came around there was no way we were going to miss it. This years show was fabulous, there was an abundance of glitter, feathers and cheesy tunes. I was in my absolute element! It is just so much fun. If you love a good bit of cheesy, tongue-in-cheek cabaret be sure to check it out next time they come by.
This month also saw Eurovision on our screens. For the last few years my friends and I have all gathered to watch this glorious spectacle and embrace some good old British (binge) drinking games… every time there is a wind machine DRINK, pyrotechnics DRINK, air punching DRINK, singing in their own language DRINK… you get the idea. We all dressed up as different countries to add to the fun (your country performs…DRINK). I was the Netherlands and Jezz was France. Had an awesome party, drank far too much and felt deservedly dreadful the next day. Thank you very much to Jo and Ed for hosting.
In May I finally got around to completing the long awaited edit for the video for my birthday last year. Yes, last year… my bad. I would like to say I have been really busy and not had time to sit and edit it together, but that would be lying! Once I finally began, I really enjoyed it! It was great fun to put all the clips together. I am so pleased with the final video. I really did have the most wonderful 30th birthday so it is something special I can look back on. Thank you again to my beautiful friends who made the trip so awesome.
It has given me a bit of a bug again about being creative, so I am hoping to make some more videos of adventures coming up. Just need to save the pennies now to get a decent camera!
At the end of May for a week, Jezz and I went off to the Netherlands with our wonderful friends Beth and James and their two children. Seeing as this holiday was half in May, half in June I will save that one for next time..
Hope that you had a lovely May! Did you do anything exciting or interesting? If so please let me know in the comments below. Also if let me know if you enjoyed the video! Perhaps some more will happen in the future.
