Approximately 12 seconds into Christmas Eve, Easter begins in the shops. Although each year this produces a grumbled swear from me (and one year quite a loud one) about how quick it is, I am actually quite happy about the arrival of these bad boys.
The Cadbury Oreo Eggs. They are divine. You get about 6 in a pack which usually retails around £1.50. (Although they always seem to be on offer for £1).
They are a small chocolate egg with an Oreo cream filling. I am not sure exactly how to describe it, it’s creamy, it’s crunchy, it’s just heavenly.
I am obsessed with them. I will not disclose how many bags I have chomped through but it is safe to say more than 2.
You will need to get them in while you can though as they disappear soon after Easter. Which because I am apparently the slowest blogger ever is now in the past! So run, RUN TO SAINSBURYS! However do not worry because no doubt they will be back before we can say Bah Humbug.
I had never actually ventured into The White Company. Something about its clean and simple lines had never lured me into the store. I think perhaps I have never considered myself a clean and simple lines kinda gal. That was until November when I finally stepped through the door of my local store and immediately wanted to set up camp and live there forever. It is a really beautiful shop.
I found myself in the candles and fragrance section, where I spent probably far too long drawing the attention of the security guard while I proceeded to sniff every single fragrance they had.
The one that caught my attention was their seasonal fragrance titled ‘Winter‘. This is something I have been aware of as lots of bloggers go mad for it this time of year. It was clearly a popular choice as a large table dedicated to just this fragrance was in the middle of the section surrounded by hungry candle lovers getting their fill. Just approaching the table I knew I was in trouble and would not be leaving the store without one.
I am always a bit dubious about Christmas fragrances. They can often be cookie, vanilla, sickly sweet fragrances but this one is different. It combines cinnamon, clove and orange. The smell reminds me of walking into a cosy pub in December that is selling mulled cider and wine. It really for me defines the scent of Christmas. It is delicious.
The smell is strong without being overpowering. Just having the candle in the room not even lit you get a bit of an aroma as you pass.
They are not cheap. This candle was £20. Which, to me is a bit of a mad amount to spend on a candle but I do love it so much. The candle has an approximate burn time of 28 hours. You get a lot of smell for your money. I just adore it. Expensive but totally worth it! I can see this being a real seasonal favourite and something I will purchase year on year.
Bit late to the party not only this month BUT SO MANY MONTHS HAVE PASSED. I will stop making excuses. Let’s just get to the good stuff, and boy is this some good stuff….
October is always a favourite month of mine, not only because it is my birthday but mostly because I love autumn. I love the change in season, the colours, the blankets, the scarves, the hot chocolates, the candles. I love any chance to get super cosy and October for me screams cosy times.
The latest edition to the cosy times is this incredible Mocha Chai from Bluebird Tea Co.. I was introduced to Bluebird teas by my mother-in-law who served me the most incredible Earl Grey (this one here it’s amazing), since then I have stalked their website and finally took the plunge and ordered a few small packs to try the different teas. This is where I found Mocha Chai.
It is described as “a decadent spiced trio of coffee, chocolate and chai”. It is dreamy. I have been brewing a fairly strong amount in about half a cup of water and then mixing it with frothed milk and a tea spoon of honey to sweeten. Topped off with a sprinkle of cinnamon (or chocolate). Just delicious.
I very quickly went through my small pouch and so recently purchased the large tin. These are great! The tins are really nice quality, long and tall so they do not take up too much space and it looks great in my kitchen.
Now it’s time to cosy up with this delicious brew. Bliss.
Wibble wobble wibble wobble jelly on a plate.
I seem to have rediscovered my love for jelly in March! In particular orange jelly with mandarins. It is just so good! I blame Sainsburys for this months not just thing I have been loving, but obsession! Their mandarin jellies are divine. (You can find them in the section with the sandwiches).
The number of these I was consuming had started to make quite a large dent in my money so I had a go at making my own.
I added peaches and mandarins to these.
I forgot how good jelly was! Now I cannot get enough. I may have gone a little wild on my last food shop and bought lots of different flavours. I am now very much looking forward to making my way through all of them. The best part is that these ones are sugar free, so not that bad for you! I can eat as much jelly as I wish and not feel bad about it.
WOOHOO! Jelly is the best! Om nom!
Do you have any jelly suggestions? What is your favourite flavour?
I have always been obsessed with anything lavender scented. There was a plant outside a house on the way to my Nan’s that had this HUGE lavender bush and I always used to squish the little purple flowers between my fingers so I could smell like them. My bedside table is littered with lavender lotions, potions, sprays and my latest obsession, this essential oil roll on from Tisserand.
Tisserand are a well known brand of essential oils. Last summer I bought a three pack which included “De-Stress”, “Energy”, and this one “Sweet Dreams”. It has lavender, sandalwood and jasmine oils, and it smells divine. Just the perfect delicious, relaxing scent for bed time.
The roller ball design is so handy for quick and easy application to your pulse points.
I have been using it every night, and cannot get enough of it. Finally it is running out so I bought a new one from Amazon for £5.95. Considering this one lasted me from August last year up until now I think that is a pretty good price.
Only draw back of searching “Tisserand Sweet Dreams” on Amazon was the realisation that they do a pillow spray, and a large oil, and a bath oil and…. goodbye money.
Each month I am going to pick one, just one thing that I have been loving in that month. It can be anything, food, make up, entertainment or like in the case of this month, this random doohicky.
I got this phone ring for Christmas. I have a “phablet” …or in plain ol’ English, a blooming big phone. I had got really good with my previous “regular” sized phone at using it with one hand but have struggled with my current phone. This simple little gadget certainly solves that issue.
I stuck it onto my gold glitter cover, and as it is slightly gold toned and I think they look really good together.
You can also use the ring as a stand, which is brilliant for when you are watching Youtube videos!
I really have loved it because my phone now feels secure again. I was always terrified of dropping it when using it one handed, but with the ring I know I have a good grip. It also comes with a hook that you can loop the ring over. I have not used this yet because I am not sure where to stick it. I imagine it would be quite good to use in your car, or if you regularly use your phone as a music or video player somewhere to stick it there. I just haven’t found the correct spot yet.
I would definitely recommend getting one if you have a larger phone and struggle with holding it.
It is currently only £4.99 on Amazon.
