February – Month Update

Ooooh monthly updates! Why didn’t I think of this sooner? I mean, that is sort of what has been happening anyway but here we go. Let’s try this. See how it goes.

Thank you for joining me for what will be known as “2016 – The year of sporadic blogging”, a brain-storm, if you will, of finding my footing in the bloggosphere.

So what did February bring?

Oh lots of things. It is interesting that normally Jan/Feb are really tough months for me (I think many people find this actually), but this year they have been a breeze. I believe this is because I have been somewhat distracted by wedding planning which is terribly exciting.

February has been a month of Gel Nails! I originally decided to get some lovely nails done for the engagement party at the beginning of February. I am now on my third round and loving having pretty nails. They last around 2 weeks. I am not sure how long I will keep doing this for, I am not sure how great it is for your nails! Think I will probably do one more round for my holiday in March but have a break after. In any case, I can HIGHLY recommend Daisy Nail Company SPA on Preston Street in Brighton. They always do a fantastic job, the staff are super nice and they have around 200 colours for gel nails! I am currently sporting a pastel purple which I am totally in love with.

Our engagement party was on the 6th February! We hired the village hall in Rottingdean, and decorated it with some banners and photos. I don’t actually have that many photos as I was too busy milling around talking to people. We were really overwhelmed with the number of people that came, and the number of presents and beautiful cards that we were given. I have bought a nice scrapbook to save all the cards. I think this will be a nice thing to look back on in years to come. We had a fabulous time, and again huge thanks to my parents for all their help to throw the party, and my Aunt Lisa for the incredible cakes! Everyone has been raving around them since.

February also saw the absolutely incredible Slamboree play their first headliner gig at the Concorde 2 in Brighton. I was first introduced to Slamboree when they played a tiny festival in Brighton about 3 or 4 years ago held on the Old Steine so it was great to see them again, this time truly appreciated by a HUGE up-for-it crowd. We all got dressed up in hats, gold, reds and blacks, as much glitter as I could get my grubby paws on. It was amazing. The show was sold-out, I danced my arse off, it took me the best part of 3 days to feel normal again. (I am getting too old for this).

Friends Slamboree

Slamboree Rave Concorde 2

We also saw Fairport Convention again with Jezz’s Dad, his girlfriend Valerie and their friend in Worthing. It is a yearly trip we all make. Jezz has been going since 1995 with his Dad, and his Dad even longer so it is really lovely that I have now become part of their yearly thing. This was my 4th year and they were just as good. A very different pace of gig from Slamboree!

I developed hives in February. WOOP.

I initially suspected bug bites but as time went on I decided going to see a doctor was the best step. She confirmed it was hives and probably from something I had eaten. I hadn’t eaten anything unusual that I could think of, but reading I can see that sometimes some people just develop an allergy literally overnight. Super weird. More internet research (apologies to all doctors out there) I read that it isn’t always necessarily from something consumed but could also be a cosmetic. So I have narrowed it down to the following suspects, Dove shower gel/moisturiser, biological washing detergent… and most distressingly… gin. I have been taking anti-histamines and been a lot better, no huge flare ups for a few days now fingers crossed… I just hope it is not my beloved gin. *wails*

Hives

February wedding planning was still a go-go, some big decisions were made and some dresses tried on. I am, for obvious reasons not going to talk about dresses too much. I am much happier about trying dresses on now and it is much more fun when you are into it! However you can go dress blind… lace, white, sparkles, chiffon, tuille…. it’s a alot. But I am enjoying it! 😀

We have decided on the venue, booked and set a date now. EEEEEEEEE. So we are looking at September 2017. It feels very good to have set a date and got the important bits done, if all else fails we are definitely getting married, can have some food, all in a building with some seats we can use! HURRAH!

So yes, that is February 2016. It has been busy. It looks as if March is going to be pretty busy too, and it is also bringing the looming ski holiday (panic). So… I will report back in March… if I survive!

FIND THE HAPPY – Monday 9th November 2015 – Sunday 15th November 2015

Happy #1: On Wednesday we went to our lovely friends Jack and Daisy’s house for dinner. We have not seen them in quite a while so it was really good to have a catch up over a glass of wine or two. Jack cooked a really delicious stew/casserole type thing. Perfect for the wet, windy horrible day it was.

Happy #2: Jezz doesn’t really eat a lot of chocolate so he never gets an advent calendar. For the past couple of years we have seen the development of the “non-edible” advent calendars. So this year, I decided to treat us both to one! For Jezz I went for the Lego City one. I got myself the Yankee Candle one. I am super excited for 1st December!

Advent Calendars Yankee Candle Lego

Happy #3: It’s the time of year where all the Christmas adverts start to appear on the TV and this year Sainsburys have outdone themselves. Do you remember the Mog books as a kid? You will love this. It made me so happy when I saw it!

Happy #4: On Thursday my work chums and I congregated with our colleagues from our sister school in Eastbourne at The Kings Head Pub in Lewes. We had a really delicious meal and a few drinks. I had the most delicious lamb and potato dauphinoise. Delicious!

Happy #5: On Saturday Jezz and I went up to London to see our friend Rob again. He is off to Canada travelling for a while at the end of the month so we joined his London friends for a goodbye shindig. We saw some friends that we hadn’t seen in a very long time, drank too much Prosecco and generally had a rather lovely silly hilarious time of it all. Thank you Rob for your hospitality and see you next weekend for round 2 *ding ding*

What have been your happies for the week? Don’t forget to link up with the tag #findthehappy

#findthehappy

It has been quite a while since we have had one of these! I have let things slide! In case you need reminding, #findthehappy is where I look back on the week that has been and find 5 things that have made me happy that week. The idea being that I will have something to look back on through the #findthehappy tag that I can see to remind me of happy times.

So here we go.. back in business…

FIND THE HAPPY – Monday 2nd November 2015 – Sunday 8th November 2015

Happy #1: Technically this would have been the previous week, however the 1st November saw one whole year since I quit smoking! I cannot say it has always been easy, but it was certainly easier to quit than I thought it would be. I feel very proud of myself, stupid for having ever started, and pleased that it is all over and done with. I do not have any desire to start again, I do not miss it at all.

Quit Now Non Smoker 1 Year

Happy #2: On Tuesday I went to go and see Priscilla Queen of the Desert at the Theatre Royal Brighton with Jo. It is one of our favourite films and we have been desperate to see the show since we saw it was on a couple of years ago. Lucky for us another tour was doing the rounds so on Tuesday we met after work. We had Wagamamas for dinner (YUM) and then went to go and watch the show. It was so good, 3 glasses of wine and all that glitter… goodness… I cannot begin to explain the joy.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert

Happy #3: On Friday we enjoyed a really delicious dinner with our friends Angie and Dan at their flat. We were joined by their flatmate Christa and also Jo and Ed. It was nice to have a very civilised dinner over a glass of wine. Thank you for inviting us! :)

Happy #4: I saw these in the window of a shop when we popped past Poole on our way back from Portland in October. I just had to have them! They are the comfiest things I have ever put on my feet as they have memory foam insoles. It is like walking on clouds. And I mean… look at them…

Rainbow Sketchers

Happy #5: On Sunday my closest family all gathered to celebrate the 50th Birthday of my aunts. We enjoyed a very delicious 3-course meal at the Ashdown Park Hotel. We had canapes and Pimms to start, the meal, and then cake and coffee. It was wonderful and we had a really lovely time! Happy Birthday Lisa and Joanne! :)

#findthehappy – Week 13

I know… I know… I am late this week! Apologies!!
I have temporarily had to move house and as a result got a bit distracted, however I did find some time for some fun things last week…
#findthehappy – Week 13 – Monday 17th August 2015 – Sunday 23rd August 2015
Happy #1 – My beautiful flat mate aka “The Wife” returned home this week after a 3-week European adventure with her boyfriend. I am very jealous of what sounds like an amazing adventure! They bought me back mayonnaise from France and some sweeties. We celebrated the return with some Aperol Spritz and watched a movie (A Walk Among the Tombstones – bloody dark, but quite enjoyed it, check it out. Be prepared to need some Disney animated animals afterwards), absolute bliss of an evening.

Happy #2 – Dentist. A controversial one. While the actual event itself certainly was not remotely fun, I feel very happy that I have done it. My Mum was always very good at getting my brother and I to go to the dentist regularly as kids and to take care of our gnashers. However, after going travelling…. *cough* 6 or 7 years ago*cough* I have not been to the dentist. It has been playing on my mind and I have been totally rubbish about doing anything about it, but last week finally I did and this week I had my treatment. £130 down and one filling later I am good for another year. But the peace of mind is certainly something happy in my week. If you haven’t been in a while, go. It will be worth it in the long run! If you are in the UK find a local NHS Dentist here

Happy #3 – On Thursday the work troops finally gathered together to celebrate surviving another summer by indulging in an alcoholic beverage… or 4. On the way home I got Grubbs for dinner, double mushroom burger and onion rings. Excessive but probably a very good idea… yes? right?

Choosing a Thursday seemed to be a good idea, until it was Friday morning and we all found ourselves sat back in the office with varying levels of hangover. The day was saved by our Accounts Administrator, Sam returning from a trip to the bank with a bag of beige pastry goods from Forfars. Genuine hero.

Happy #4 – I wrote a few weeks ago about my excitement for my favourite blogger/vlogger/ Sprinkle of Glitter releasing her book. This week showed the sneaky release of her 2016 diary. Now I cannot wait for the start of 2016! It is full of such pretty pages, and what I really like is each page has something different on. Something that all owners of the diary can interact with, recipes, quotes, hash tags. It’s pretty. I must get a pretty pen to write in it.
Again, it is probably aimed at an audience somewhat than I am myself, but it makes me happy… and isn’t that what this blog is all about? :)

Happy #5 – The weekend was spent with Jezz and our London based chum Robert in London. We went up to celebrate the birthday of our friend Becky on the Saturday and decided to make a weekend of it. We drank too much, slept too little and Rob broke his toe doing some tube acrobatics.

We went and played in the a somewhat lacklustre maze in the Coronation Gardens in Leyton (pretty park, crap maze).

I also got to go to the Lush in Stratford and got a bit over excited, but managed to stop at £30 so it could have been worse. Lush you devil, you will be the reason I am declared bankrupt…. (I will smell GREAT though).
All in all a bloody marvellous weekend. Thank you Robs for your hospitality.

#findthehappy – Week 12

#findthehappy – Week 12 – Monday 10th August 2015 – Sunday 16th August 2015
Happy #1 – Ice Cream. Ice cream will always be something that makes me happy. I found a box of mini-Magnums with the new pink raspberry and black espresso ones and well…. nom. The raspberry ones are delicious! Plus as they are “mini” I don’t feel quite as naughty eating one.
Happy #2 – My brother and I headed over to Peacehaven again this week to go and see the parentals. We had fajitas and Mum made a delicious cake! I couldn’t help but feel like I was being watched though when I ate my slice….
Happy #3 – I go past Palmeira Square in Hove every day, and have noticed this year how much effort and care go into the flowers there. Even in the rain it looks so pretty.
Happy #4 – A long time ago, probably about 7/8 years ago I took a jewellery making course at City College, in Brighton. I never continued with it, for one reason or another but I thought all of the things I had made had got lost. However, I have recently been going through some boxes, having a big sort out and I found all the items that I made. They certainly do look a little home-made but still I am quite proud of them and very pleased that I found them again. The silver piece in the middle was made by carving a shape into a cuttlefish and then pouring molten silver into the mould (this is called cuttlefish casting). It has a small hole that I drilled through to make it into a pendant, so I think I should get a chain perhaps to keep it on! Certainly it would be a piece of jewellery that no one else would have!
Happy #5 – On Saturday, myself, Jezz and our friends Mike, Gemma and Charlie headed up to Waterhall in Brighton for the yearly one day festival Shakedown. We met up with some other friends there and had THE BEST time ever. We drank, we danced, we painted our faces. Everyone seemed to be having an awesome time, I am sure there were lots of sore heads in the morning. I know mine certainly was! It was really good to cut loose and prance around in a field for a day. Thank you to amazing friends too for making it so much fun. A massive well done and thank you to the Shakedown team for putting on a brilliant day. Can’t wait for next year!!

#findthehappy – Week 11

#findthehappy – Week 11 – Monday 3rd August 2015 – Sunday 9th August 2015

Happy #1 – My friends Joulz and Craig have had a hell of a year. Last year their daughter decided to come into the world early and it was a very scary time for them. In the last year their beautiful baby girl has gone from strength to strength. They have recently had an article published in Pick Me Up about their incredible journey and their involvement in WaterBabies, swimming classes for babies. We do not see each other as much as we used too, but I am so incredibly proud of both of them and all they have been through. Amethyst is a beautiful, healthy one year old now. It has been wonderful watching their family come out of what must have been the most difficult, scary time ever. They are doing a fantastic job and should be super proud!

Happy #2 – Jezz has become obsessed with making balloon animals since last weekend. I mean LITERALLY obsessed. I am finding bits of balloon everywhere I go and my flat smells of latex (oooh kinky). He is actually getting pretty good. Aside from the constant squeaks and pops it is fun.

Happy #3 – As I wrote a couple of posts ago I am feeling more in control of everything again and am finding the time and joy to start writing and putting up posts again. I really do enjoy doing this, and it does seem that some of you are actually enjoying reading it too, so thank you! :)

Happy #4 – Tea. I love tea and have been drinking lots and lots of lovely tea. Tea this week has been making me particularly happy, especially during the recovery process of Happy #5….
A photo posted by Amy Teresa Elliott (@amynoos) on

Happy #5 – My beautiful friend Becky came down from London for the weekend and we met up for drinks on Saturday. Becky, myself, Jezz, and our friends Toby, Lina, Ceej and Lee went out for general merriment and to celebrate the return of the aforementioned chums to Brighton. It ended up being one of those nights where you stagger home at 5 am in a wobbly line. We ended up dancing to the fine sounds of the 80’s at The Haunt at their “it is still 1985” night (a fine year for those who were born…) and ended the night in Brighton’s famous 24-hour cafe Buddies.
Smashed.
So smashed I found the following thing so entertaining I had to take a photo. Yes. Don’t drink kids.

10 points to whoever can figure out what this is.

Brighton Pride 2015

I bloody love Brighton.
I am so proud to be from this incredible, diverse, free city. Nothing shows Brighton in it’s true (rainbow glittery) colours as the yearly Pride festival. I have been rubbish the past couple of years due to summer school exhaustion (excuses, excuses) but this year it was embraced in full force!

A massive thank you to Janine Basil who created my beautiful headband and helped me to get it on time when I ordered it too late!

This year was the 25th anniversary of Brighton Pride and the whole city seemed to be involved. The first Pride parade in Brighton was in 1973 but it wasn’t until 1991 that it became the festival it is known as now. You can find out more here: History

Jezz, myself and our friend Rob planned to start the days festivities with the parade at Hove Lawns. However, in usual tardy style we didn’t get up until 10.00 am, drank coffee, took ALONG time to get out the house and had accepted the fact that we had missed the parade.
We decided to wander down to Hove Lawns and slowly make our way over to Preston Park where the party was. Upon our arrival all of the pride floats were at Hove Lawns, unbeknownst to us there had been a bomb scare that had delayed the parade, and had worked perfectly for us because the parade literally started as soon as we arrived!

We followed the parade all the way through Brighton over to London Road where we met up with our friends, and danced in the street, watching the parade and cheering everyone as they passed. Everyone seemed to be having a brilliant time with huge smiles on their faces.

Once the parade had finished we went to Preston park to start the real party! It was fantastic, we drank, we danced, everyone was having a fantastic time. It seemed to be over far too quickly. I want to go back and do it all again.

My friend described the atmosphere as “electric” and it really was. It seemed the whole of Brighton had come out to celebrate and was having an amazing time. Brighton you did yourself proud. I cannot WAIT for next year!

#findthehappy – Week 10

#findthehappy – Week 10 – Monday 29th June 2015 – Sunday 5th July 2015
Phew what a week! Non-stop go go go at work and outside of work….
Happy #1 – As it was Jezz’s birthday on Sunday 28th June we went out with his parents and brother for a birthday meal on Monday. We went to a great Lebanese restaurant Kambis on Western Road, we go there quite a lot! I had my favourite lamb shawarma. We then went to Jojo’s Gelato across the road for pudding. I had a delicious strawberry and chocolate sauce crepe. Felt thoroughly sick and happy afterwards.
Happy #2 – On Tuesday Jo and I had tickets booked for the special premier showing of Amy at the Duke of York cinema. I have always been a massive fan of Amy Winehouse and was very excited to see the movie. It is fantastic, but so, so sad. I left the cinema with a very heavy heart. It is a great insight into her story, and if you are a fan you should go and see it. Just be prepared to have your heart broken.

Happy #3 – On Wednesday I had made plans to have dinner and wine on the beach with my friend Gemma after work. It has been a real scorcher of a day so we went to Tesco’s and bought a rotisserie chicken, salad and a baguette (and maybe some cake… perhaps….maybe…..) We made chicken sandwiches, drank wine and put the worlds to rights while watching a seagull trying to eat a fish. It was glorious.

Happy #4 – I have previously mentioned my favourite blogger/YouTuber Sprinkle of Glitter (aka Louise Pentland) before. I am a bit of a fangirl and think she is just plain fabulous. She gives young women a very positive message in an otherwise very pressured society. Something that I feel quite strongly about. If you keep up with her internet antics you will know that Thursday saw the release of her new book “Life with a Sprinkle of Glitter“. I have had it on pre-order since it was announced and was far too excited about it’s arrival. It came, its lovely. I am definitely a little (a lot) older than the intended audience but that does not mean I cannot appreciate the messages held within its pages. I could ramble on for ages, but it is lovely, and I am savouring each page like a delicious box of chocolates.

Happy #5 – On Sunday Jezz, Jo, Ed and I all went to the Odeon cinema to watch Jurassic World finally. I thoroughly enjoyed it, it’s silly, it’s loud, the characters are painfully one dimensional but sometimes you just have to let go and ride it out. It made me nervous, happy and nostalgic. And… well… dinosaurs!! WOOP!

#findthehappy – Week 9 – Part 2

The alarm went off at about 10.00am and for once I leaped out of bed to make a cup of tea (there is normally a battle as to whom is going to make the tea). We got dressed, Jezz packed his things and we headed up to Brighton station to catch our train at 11.27 am. We managed to get to the station in time to get a coffee and boarded our train headed for London Victoria.
We arrived at Victoria and battled through the solid mass of people trying to get down to the tube. After doing the “London shuffle” (teeny tiny steps, shuffled whilst surrounded by people) we boarded the tube to Green Park. Jezz has been doing some work recently up in London and wanted to show me where he had been so we went for a walk around St. James’ Square and then up to Piccadilly where the theatre was.
By this time we were starting to get hungry and rain had started so we darted into Bella Italia to grab a spot of lunch. This was a bit of a snap decision hurried by the impending downpour and we realised we picked probably the WORST Bella Italia out of at least 3 we saw within a 5 minute walk. The reason being that we were put on a table right up the back, with no windows and all the others restaurants we spotted were much bigger, with windows! Even funnier was after we had ordered our food, we realised that we had been to the Bella Italia in Crawley once before and had ordered EXACTLY what we had ordered this time, just the other way around. Haha!
After lunch we had a bit of time to kill so we went for a walk around to look for Leicester Square…  we found Trafalgar Square… then realised we had had lunch at Leicester square, so in fact where we were already on Leicester Square when we started looking.  #losttourist
By this time, it was heading towards 2.30 pm when the show was supposed to begin so we headed towards the Prince of Wales theatre. I haven’t been to a show in London in a very long time, so I don’t know if it is the standard but the staff were so great! They were friendly, approachable and made us feel very very welcome. The gentleman who served us at the bar was brilliant, very friendly. We had a jug of Pimms to start and order our interval drinks, a bottle of Prosecco. We had one glass of Pimms each before it was time to go in so took a glass in with us.
The show was fantastic. I knew I would enjoy it but I literally had the time of my life! My face hurt from smiling and laughing all the way through. The cast were brilliant. We had great seats second row from the stage. The show was one of the best things I have ever seen, Jezz and I have been talking about it ever since and singing all of the songs since. (However do not get Hassa Diga Ebowaii stuck in your head and sing at work). As we left the theatre there were a group of Mormons outside handing out genuine copies of The Book of Mormon! Does beg the question how many recruits they have got from the back of the show! It is great, seriously if you like South Park or if you have a non-sensitive sense of humour do go and see it. In fact I will come with you to see it again!
After the show, we were feeling a bit merry and decided to go to the Japan Centre, which is an awesome shop that sells all exciting, interesting Japanese things. It was all a bit too much at this point and I had gone a bit giddy so we decided to go and check into the hotel and chill out for a bit.
I had booked us into the Melia White House hotel which is just by Regents Park. The hotel was wonderful! I had emailed them prior to arrival to explain that it was Jezz’s 30th birthday to see if there was anything we could arrange as a little surprise for his arrival. They very kindly left us a bottle of cava and a cake with a special message on! This was a really lovely touch for when we arrived. We had a lovely cold glass of cava and a slice of cake. Showered and got ready for the evening.
The basic plan was to go and get dinner, but as we were in London Jezz thought we should do something a bit more exciting so we decided to go up The Shard (insert “take my boyfriend up the shard” joke here). We had a drink at the bar half way up to start, very expensive, very swanky, very busy. Then we went up to the top and had a good look round. The view was very cool, we spent a lot of time trying to figure out all the different landmarks and where on earth Victoria train station was… never found it.. kinda over there in that vague area *wave hand in general direction, nod like you know what you are talking about*
It was fairly late by the time we left and we were starting to get quite hungry so we headed towards Soho area to find some dinner. Jezz had been to a place before with a friend called Bodeans so we headed there. It is a BBQ restaurant and OMG so good. We had all of the different meats! Chicken, ribs, pulled pork, sausage and burnt ends. OMG the burnt ends were soooooooooooooo good. If you go be sure to try them! We were both clearly very hungry and polished off the lot!
After dinner we decided that we would both prefer to just get another bottle of cava in and head back to the hotel rather than going out to a bar or a club. (Getting old y’see?) So that is what we did, we listened to some music on YouTube, ended up listening to some weird country music and then decided it was probably bed time.
The next morning we woke, dressed and went down for breakfast which was a great buffet with all you could want, we filled up on bacon and eggs and checked out of the hotel.
We decided to head back to Oxford Street and have a wonder around the shops, we had a good look round the M&M Store and Hamleys, then stopped for a coffee. At this point our feet were complaining from all of the walking and it was getting close to our train home so we headed to Victoria where we had a beer, a pretzel and boarded the train back to Brighton.
We had the best weekend! I am really pleased that Jezz enjoyed his birthday surprise and we both had such a lovely time. A massive thank you to all at the Price of Wales Theatre/Book of Mormon and staff at The Melia White House Hotel for making the weekend so special!
I booked the show and hotel through Show and Stay, it was very simple and I would certainly recommend them! Join their newsletter and get 10% off your break! :)

#findthehappy – Week 9 – Part 1

FIND THE HAPPY – Week 9 – Weekend of 20 – 21 June 2015
THE REVEAL!

#findthehappy is running a bit behind this week, please see my last post
Things might be a little higgledy piggledy for the next couple of months due to work.
#tired #stressed #needaholidayagainalready
So this weeks #findthehappy is going to take a slightly different format.
Usually we have 5 things a week that have made me happy. Last week we had one big super happy, so going to focus on that! We will do this in 2 parts because a) it is epic and b) I am not sure I can write this all in one go!
Jezz turns 30 on the 28th June so as a birthday surprise I planned a trip to London to see The Book of Mormon and a stay in a posh hotel. I booked it all in March so have been planning it for ages, finally last week it came around, time for the big reveal!

I had “booked” the weekend up with a mysterious family event that I basically just didn’t actually tell him about. We have a shared calender so I put it in there and kept quiet not wanting to get tangled up in a web of lies!
On the Thursday evening as we entered Sainsburys to get some dinner, he asked me what we had planned that weekend. Thankfully this meant that I could browse shelves and with some air of confidence tell him about the family thing early on Saturday, avoiding any eye-contact
(I am a terrible liar, thank goodness I could look the other way and pretend to be looking at salad!).
He had drinks with work planned on Friday evening after work (EAK!!) so I told him that he must not get too drunk, being hungover on Saturday is not an option… he said I could come for drinks too… I just mumbled some noises and said it was best to stay at his so we could get the bus in the morning…
ahem… yes….. *look in opposite direction*
I do not play the nagging girlfriend hugely well and I was sure that my demands for him to be home would uncover my secret plot… or make him think I had lost the plot as it is quite out of character. But no, he didn’t thing anything of it, was on the train home with some work friends at 8.30 pm. I met them for a beer and we joked about how much he couldn’t wait to get up SUPER early to go and see my family…. *mischievous giggle*

When we got back I presented him with a wrapped present, and early birthday present. After much squishing and shaking of said present he finally opened it to reveal a nice wooden elephant box…. and when he opened it, inside was all of the tickets. He was super pleased, but still hadn’t clicked that we were going that weekend! Haha! There was much celebration, and excited chatting. We went to bed at a reasonable hour after watching some Orange is the New Black and set the alarm for the morning to be sure to make our train!

In part 2 I will tell you about our wonderful weekend in London!

Watch this space….
